  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Just turned on the TV and wow Calgary is flooded! Watching homes float down the river. 3 people are dead. Part of BC is flooded too in the Kootneys and I hear Edmonton is close like us. A month ago Cache Creek 45 mins away washed out. Most hwys are now closed that is for sure, sad news for truckers. Itis you better check in and let us know you are all right as water levels rise we might be next. We had so much rain and the snow still has to melt from the mountains. Cruel intro to summer!

My aunt and uncle are flying to Calgary tomorrow (from London) ... I hear the airport is untouched as it's on much higher ground. Hope it doesn't mess up their plans (they're visiting relatives in Grimshaw, and heading into the Rockies).

I think they will be having trouble doing any traveling on the roads once here as they all have issues especially if they are traveling south. We had a lot of snow this winter and lots of rain this spring so roads are closed everywhere due to mud slides. More rain and hot weather to come so conditions can and will get worse on hwys.

Well over a month ago in the beginning of May we were about a month ahead of water levels and last year we did have floods not as bad as Calgary has but we had a mess. Anything close to the river bank was flooded and parking lots, parks etc closed and sand bagged off. I took pics last July. I don't know what will happen this year but I am keeping my eye on the river as it is pretty darn high. They have warned everyone to stay off the river bank edges and we have already had several drownings.

    Meanwhile in India

NEW DELHI — Flash floods and landslides in northern India have killed at least 1,000 people in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand in the past week, an official said Saturday, and with thousands missing or stranded the toll was expected to rise.

My thoughts go out to all the people affected by floods anywhere in the world. :rose:

How is your river in Edmonton? I am going to take a peek at ours today when I am out.

The North Saskatchewan is a big river BD. The banks thought-out most of is journey to Hudson's Bay are deep. WE also have the Brasseu dam upstream not far from the mountains so we are ok here. Pretty much all the major rivers and tributaries north of Hi-Way 11 are like that with a shit-load of forests.
In Edmonton we have what we used to call the flats... three neighbor hoods that could be flooded if the river went nuts.
A few years back the river was announced to be 30 meters above its normal height. (about 100 feet) ... So I went so see.
The water was just begining to move into the parkland lawns.
