The trailer launch of Veera Dheera Sooran was eventful with Vikram, director Arun Kumar, and SJ Suryah heaping praise on each other, as the film gears up for release on March 27.

Veera Dheera Sooran’s audio launch turned out to be an event of cast and crew heaping praise on each other. Obviously, everyone had a lot of nice things to say about Vikram, and they had to say it in Tamil and Telugu as the event took place at Vel Tech Engineering College, located on the border of the two states.

SJ Suryah, who was evidently sleepless from continuous shooting and dubbing schedules, claimed that the film would be of Hollywood standard. “Director SU Arun Kumar is a huge fan of Martin Scorcese, and he has made a film of that standard. It is a film about a rooted Tamil story made with Hollywood standards. I loved working on this." SJ Suryah plays a police officer in the film, who seems to lock horns with Vikram’s character in the movie.

SJ Suryah also claimed that Arun Kumar has brought back the Vikram of Dhool (2003) in this film, and he hopes to see ‘that’ Vikram in all of his coming films.

The Telugu crowd at the event went bonkers for SJ Suryah when he recalled the dialogue from the Tollywood hit film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. When he finally got off stage, Vikram asked him to leave the event as Suryah was incredibly tired. He was even spotted dozing off due to fatigue.

Director SU Arun Kumar kept it simple when he got on stage. He thanked everyone for being part of the film. However, he revealed the biggest question about the film: “Why is it called Part 2?" He said, “It was Vikram’s idea. When I first narrated the script to him, I told him that we could make a sequel to this film, and it was a continuation. And he told me to call it a second part, as it would be an apt title. So, he was the reason behind the title."

He added, “He has worked in 61 films. This is his 62nd. But even now, when I set up the camera, he asks me, ‘What should I do?’ That question is a threat because I should be prepared for that shot… to direct someone who has done so much."

Arun Kumar also requested the audience to reach the theatre on time. “Please try going to the theatre early as the film starts right away. The first 20 minutes of the film is important. Since it is the second part, we get into the story immediately."

Vikram, who took the stage at the end, claimed that he wanted to work with Arun Kumar after watching Chiththa. “I have never called him by his name. It’s always been Chittha for me. I loved the story he had for me and for a while, I have been trying to do a certain kind of film for my fans. This is sort of a riotous film, but will have a great emotional core. We both were on the same page. It should be like Sethupathi and also like Chiththa. Veera Dheera Sooran is that sort of a film. It’s my tribute to my fans."

When asked who the obsession of his life is, Vikram said it was his wife Shailaja. “Okay, let’s keep the family aside. When I am asked this question, I usually love the heroines I am acting with because I become the character. When I acted in Sethu, it was Abhithagujambal (Abhitha). In Dheivathirumagan, there was no romantic love, but it was Nila (Sara). In Thandavam, it was Sweety (Anushka). With this film, I should say it is Kalaivaani (Dhushara). But my Theerakaathali (evergreen love) is my fans."

Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 is releasing in theatres on March 21. It will also be out in Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam.
