‘There Is A Possibility’: AR Murugadoss On Making A Sequel For Aamir Khan’s Ghajini

Filmmaker AR Murugadoss is all set to entertain the audience with his upcoming Eid release Sikandar. Back in 2008, AR Murugadoss made his Hindi film debut in Hindi Aamir Khan-led Ghajini, which went ahead to be one of the most popular films. Now, in his recent interview, the filmmaker hinted at a possibility of a sequel to Ghajini and is expected to work on them soon.

AR Murugadoss stated, “There is a possibility for Ghajini 2. We have something in mind and we will sit and discuss. If everything goes well, we can do it. I have a basic idea, not a full script. If it is made, it will be in both Tamil and Hindi," as quoted by PTI. Earlier, in an interview with Pinkvilla, the filmmaker mentioned that while they have some ideas for the sequel, “who will be the hero of Ghajini 2? We have to discuss." Earlier, Ghajini producer Allu Aravind expressed his desire to make the second part and aim to make another box office record.

    Ghajini was a remake of the director’s 2005 Tamil film, with South actor Suriya playing the lead. Ghajini focused on Sanjay, a businessman with anterograde amnesia who seeks vengeance on those who murdered his fiancée, Kalpana. Asin portrayed Kalpana in both the Tamil and Hindi versions of the film.

    Meanwhile, the trailer for AR Murugadoss’s Sikandar was released this weekend. The trailer displays Salman’s portrayal of Sikandar as both raw and forceful. His signature larger-than-life presence meshes perfectly with the character’s desire for vengeance, love, and justice. Rashmika Mandanna truly excels in the video, enticing viewers with her natural charm.

    Sikandar stars Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, as well as Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi. Sajid Nadiadwala produced the film. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 30, 2025.Sikandar is especially significant for Salman Khan because it marks his return to the big screen. His previous film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, was released in 2023, and fans are now eagerly awaiting his next action-packed production.
