The day is finally here! The BCCI has finally announced the 15-member squad that has been selected to represent the Indian Cricket Team in the upcoming T20 World Cup in June, hosted in the West Indies and USA.
Whilst a variety of fairly obvious names have made it to the final team, a few more included and excluded have surprised fans, onlookers, and critics alike.

The inclusion of Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal has brought much joy to fans of Indian cricket, as both Rajasthan Royals players are currently the backbone of their IPL franchise, and have led by example in their respective departments, helping RR secure a dominant first place so far, with just one loss in their campaign so far.
The tale of Rishabh Pant’s comeback into the Indian squad so fairly soon after dipping back into action following his life-threatening accident is another talking point that has caught the eyes of many.
On the other hand, a few more have left people shocked. The consensus on Hardik Pandya being named the vice-captain of the Indian team, on top of what has proven to be a disappointing campaign for the Mumbai Indians so far, has left some bamboozled.
Yet another point of conversation that has arisen has been the exclusion of Rinku Singh from the initial 15-member squad. Despite scoring 356 runs at an average of 89 and strike rate of 176.24 in T20Is for India, Rinku could not find a place in the ICC World T20 2024 Squad, and only afforded to make the reserves list.
And more importantly, the exclusion of players such as the likes of KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Dinesh Karthik etc. have also left many shocked, given the fins form and experience that the mentioned players possess.
