As you gaze upon your completed time machine, various questions cross your mind.
Do you really want to do this? Is this safe? Is it ethical to travel through time, potentially exposing the people of the past and/or future to your weird [CURRENT YEAR] germs? Hell, does this thing even work? You're no engineer - this thing is made out of random junk cobbled together according to some WikiHow article from years ago. How do you know it won't blow up the moment you try turning it on?
But then you think about all the times your lack of confidence has fucked you over in life. That girl you never asked out because you thought she was a lesbian. That guy you never asked out because you were worried he was straight (and boy, were you wrong on that one). Every job interview you've ever had. Every friendship that's ever died because you were too worried that you were annoying them to keep in touch. Every project you've never finished because you were too terrified it wouldn't be good enough.
You decide that before your brain can gleefully torment you with more of your past failings, you need to make a decision.
